A Janesville man is charged with robbery with use of force and strangulation after prosecutors say he assaulted an ex-girlfriend in Beloit in November.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim says Dangelo Rogers, 36, came to her home the night of Nov. 10 to retrieve a set of tires from a car he had sold.
When he arrived, he demanded to be let into the house, threatening to kick down the door.
When the victim let Rogers in, she told police Rogers choked her twice, struck her with a closed fist and slammed her head against her bed’s headboard because she was speaking to another man.
During the assault, the victim was on the phone. Rogers took it, threatened the man on the other end of the line and left with the victim’s cellphone.
Rogers received a $5,000 cash bond, according to online court records.
