A local nonprofit is teaming with another to furnish its new Beloit facility.

Family Services of Southern Wisconsin plans to open its Next Steps Family Resilience Center later this year.

The nonprofit plans to provide housing and social services for families in crisis out of the former Royce Elementary School building, and the apartments that will be part of the facility will need somewhere for families to sleep.

That’s where the nonprofit Sleep in Heavenly Peace comes in.

The group and its volunteers build and deliver beds to kids and families in need.

Family Services needs adult volunteers to help build the beds on Saturday, January 18th.

Anybody who wants to help with a cash donation to Family Services can do that, as well. The full cost for a bed is $500.

More info on registering to volunteer can be found at S-H-P-beds dot org slash volunteer.
