
Several employees at businesses in Janesville are being cited after failing alcohol compliance checks. The Janesville Police Department conducted alcohol compliance checks Wednesday at eight local businesses that sell alcohol. The checks are designed to ensure that businesses are checking identification and not selling to underage persons. The checks are conducted by having an underage adult attempt to purchase alcohol from a business. If the underage person is allowed to purchase, the clerk is cited for selling the alcohol. The four businesses that sold alcohol to the underage person including Smokes and Spirits, Romans, Kwik Trip South, and Badger Spirits on Center Avenue. The businesses that didn’t sell alcohol to the underage person were Woodmans, Hy-Vee,Festival Foods, and J-Town Spirits.
