Rock County will conduct ATV and UTV safety education courses early next month.
The first part of the two-session course will be held at the Rock County Sheriff’s Office from 6 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7. Part two will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. the following Saturday, Jan. 11.
Another course will be held in February.
People born after Jan. 1, 1988, are required to complete a course to legally operate ATV’s and UTV’s in areas open to the public. Students should be at least 12 years old or be turning 12 shortly after the class.
For participants under 18, a parent or guardian will have to accompany them to the first class session. The course fee is $10.
Deputy Trevor Lund says the easiest way to register is to find the ATV safety course post on the sheriff’s office’s Facebook page and follow the link posted there.
