Authorities say a Beloit man is in custody suspected in a home standoff Tuesday while he was wanted on three other recent violent crimes.

Beloit police say Latres Robinson, a 29-year-old from Beloit, got combative with cops after he disappeared into a house in the 1700 block of Forest Avenue about 9 p.m. Tuesday.

No one else was in the residence.

Police say they were pursuing Robinson on suspicion of two other recent reports of kidnapping and false imprisonment involving a weapon; one on December 10 in Beloit; and one in the town of Turtle on December 20th.

Robinson was also wanted for felony fleeing police on December 21st.

Police say Robinson refused to exit the house he’d entered Tuesday night. Ultimately, a sheriff’s SWAT team went in and apprehended Robinson at 2 a.m. Wednesday.

Robinson has a past history of violent crimes involving armed robbery, burglary and false imprisonment in 2017, and in 2023 for manufacturing and delivering cocaine. He was sentenced to 2 years on the drug trafficking in 2024 but had credit for jail time.
