The Janesville Police Department (JPD) Bike Rodeo, a community event aimed at promoting bike safety and fun, will be held on Saturday, June 8, at the parking lot of the YMCA (221 Dodge St.) from 9 a.m. to noon.
This annual event, a great opportunity for children and families to learn and have fun together, is free and open to all in Janesville. The rodeo is designed to engage and entertain children while teaching critical bike safety skills. Young bikers can navigate a unique obstacle course as JPD bike officers demonstrate and instruct proper safe riding. Helmets are required to participate, and loaner bikes will be available.
Bike and helmet safety checks will be provided at the event by rodeo co-sponsors Michael’s Cycles, Velocity Multi-Sport & Cycling, the Bike Elves, and the Janesville Velo Club. Attendees can enjoy free hotdogs and pizza from community partner Marco’s Pizza.
