NIGHT HIKE AT FAIR MEADOWS STATE NATURAL AREA

Meet at the Fair Meadows State Natural Area near Lake Koshkonong, 11305 N. Vogel Road, Milton WI. For this hike, we tour the privately owned Fair Meadows State Natural Area that we have visited several times before. Fair Meadows is a 300 acre site with wide, easily hiked trails that wind through native and restored prairies, oak woodlands, ponds and wetlands adjacent to Lake Koshkonong. NIGHT NATURE HIKE AT NATURE AT THE CONFLUENCE (NATC)

Hike the trails of NATC where Turtle Creek and Kelly Creek flow into the Rock River. This is the peak time of the year to see bats, (and we saw lots of bats here last year; more than any at any of the other night hike sites!) glow-worms and fireflies, and hear the calls of owls in the woods and the frogs, toads and night birds along the creeks and river.
